We're back. It seems like there have been more games this year already than when I released the first round of ratings last year. Hopefully that means there will be less teams dropping far out of the Top 25 than in years past. I still was unable to keep Nebraska from entering the Top 25 though. On Sunday, they moved into the #25 spot barely. At the same time, this year looks to be the year that the Mid-Major conferences start to catch the big boys even more. Never before have so many of the mid to low conference teams been ranked as highly at this point in the season. We have representatives from the Colonial, Missouri Valley, and West Coast conferences all gaining spots in the opening rankings. In addition, there are a number of teams just outside the Top 25 who have competed well with the major conferences early in the season. For those of you inclined to complain, remember that it is still early and this is based purely on the numbers so far. You can check out the commentary all season in my articles on Sitting Courtside. Don't be afraid to write in and let me know how you feel.
